This is an optional feature which can be enabled by HR Admin in the Configuration section.


It allows managers of mangers to contribute to their 2nd line report's appraisals by giving the 2nd line manager a section on the 2nd line report's appraisal form and by encouraging the line manager to discuss the 2nd line's performance prior to an appraisal meeting. Gosh, that sounds confusing doesn't it?    Let's break it down......












When enabled, managers of managers can either choose which of their 2nd line reports they would like to see and contribute to appraisals for (or PerformanceHub automatically sets things up for you - depending on how HR have configured the system). If you are allowed to choose who you want to contribute to, then just tick the ones you want on the Second-line reports configuration page (click your name on the top right and select "Second-line reports").































The selected 2nd-line reports will appear in the sidebar of the Appraisals page, in a separate "2nd-line reports" section, below the "Direct Reports" section.


Any employee with a 2nd line manager will have a new section added to their appraisal so the 2nd line manager can add a few comments as part of the appraisal. PerformanceHub will ask the 2nd line manager to do this when it's time.


If the 2nd line manager section on the appraisal is configured by HR to be optional, then once the 2nd line report and their manager have shared the appraisal, the 2nd line manager will be asked to add some comments too.


If HR have configured PerformanceHub to make the 2nd line manager contribution section mandatory, then PerformanceHub will ask the line manager to provide a provisional review to the 2nd line manager and for them to meet to discuss the 2nd line report's performance. Until this meeting has been confirmed, the line manager will not be able to share the appraisal review with the direct report.
